 | Currently, this page sports shots of my 5-gallon cube picotope aquarium. This is a picture of YoYo, my loach. As his name suggests, he is a Yo Yo Loach. Currently, he is a little over an inch long. What a cutie! Below are some pics of my Tiger Nerite snail. I do believe that in the second shot you can see it's little pink heart while it chows down on some tankside algae! |

 | Here is one of my 3 Ghost Shrimp. It's really pretty, with bright red on the base of it's antennae, on the joint of it's front pincers, and you can't see, but also at the outer segments of it's tail. | About 4 weeks ago, I bought 4 more ghost shrimp. I don't know what happened to one of them, but three are left. This one was discovered with eggs a little over a week ago. I took my lampeye killifish out of the tank because I noticed they were eating the copepods and even the large gammarus. I knew they would make a snack out of baby shrimp, so they went into my other tank. Below this picture is a shot of my two Bamboo shrimp. They feed by using their fans (which developed from pincers) to catch minute food drifting through the water. Below the bamboo shrimp is a picture of one of my Amano Shrimp. These are said to be good algae eaters, but since I tend to overfeed, they haven't really eaten any algae for me.

| Bumbles, my Clown Pleco. I've done some rearranging...I've gotten some Amano Shrimp and put Rufus in a separate tank with them. I now have an orange male platy in with YoYo and Bumbles. My Ghost Shrimp alas did not make it, but I gave them to YoYo who had a blast eating each one. I also have a male and female fresh water fiddler crab and a female red claw crab. Also, I have some shots of my gammarus shrimp. They are tough little buggers to take a picture of, but I think I have a good one or two to share so you can become familiar with them. YoYo would eat them if I kept them in the picotope with him, so I have to keep them in the other tanks. YoYo really lives up to his name....what a clown! He's gotten bigger since the top shot was taken. I'll have to revamp this page with newer shots. The shot below is of one of my many, many gammarus shrimp. They are also known as scuds. Yes, that is gravel, so you know how small they are... this one is about 1/3 of an inch long and is an adult. Almost looks like a flea, doesn't it? My largest adult gammarus are about 1/2 inch long. The pic above and below on the right is of my female Red Claw Crab. Below left is a pic of my Male Fiddler Crab. Yes, they're both freshwater crabs. At the moment, since I don't have a saltwater tank, I'm fascinated with freswater invertebrates. everything ... by Snerticus! | |
